Stephen Chan

Stephen Chan has been serving in Bedok Methodist Church’s Children’s Ministry for almost 10 years as a teacher and worship leader. He has organised and taught in children’s bible camps and has written several series of children’s devotion materials. He is also a certified facilitator of the Parenting with Confidence programme. In his career as an Information Technologist spanning more than 20 years, Stephen has seen how the pace of the modern workplace has gradually drawn fathers away from their families and reduced their influence over the lives of their children. Stephen’s passion now is to reverse this trend by spreading awareness, encouraging fathers to bond with their children and providing them with practical handles. Stephen believes that the presence of a godly, loving and involved father in the family provides the stability and the role model that all children need and crave. Stephen is married to a wonderful and godly wife Cecilia who serves in the Children’s Ministry with him. They have a teenage son Calvin who serves in the Youth Ministry and also the Children’s Ministry. Stephen is an avid runner, cyclist and blogger and he manages two blogs: a practical, faith-driven devotion study at 10seventeen.wordpress.com, and a parenting focused blog at dadstoolkit.wordpress.com.
