Two leaders, eminently qualified and spiritually gifted, began their leadership journey with enthusiasm and enjoyed a fulfilling ministry along the way. Over time, one left with ill feelings while the other continued past his retirement age. What led to such disparate trajectories? Leadership is not without pain. But there are greater gains when we intentionally do the right things, right, and avoid malpractices that disrupt our leading and living. Achievements, however small, empower us. Disruptions upset us emotionally, derail us from our chosen path and create interpersonal conflicts that further dampen our spirit. ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Peter Tang has been serving as a lay leader since his teenage years at Youth for Christ, in his local church and the Baptist community, while holding a regular job. His duties include teaching, planning, organising, serving on the deacon board and task-force leadership, pastoral search and team development. He left a lucrative career to serve as
full-time Executive Director of the Singapore Baptist Convention, journeying with church pastors and leaders in building edifying and cooperative partnerships. Retired from business but not from ministry, he is a church deacon, a board member of the Baptist Theological Seminary and a certified church consultant by the Church Consultation University (USA). He also engages regularly with adult men for mutual encouragement and edification.
