You and I can identify with this emotion called ANGER. We see it at home, in the office, in school, on public transport, on the roads, at the shopping centres, in the sports stadium, in restaurants, etc. It is probably one of the commonest, and can also become one of the most dangerous emotions. Religious scholars, philosophers, poets, psychologists and psychiatrists have deliberated much about it. Some feel anger must be controlled — it is wrong to show it. Some feel anger must not be controlled — it is unnatural and harmful to do that. Others feel anger cannot be controlled — it is impossible to do that. Yet, others feel anger can be controlled — that is not difficult to accept but it is not easy to achieve.
Many of us are struggling with anger and others suffer silently. We feel ashamed, guilty and incapacitated. This book discusses this emotion including its functions, suggests how we can recognise it early and addresses ways of managing it appropriately.
